Weight-wise, the Clapp GP100 weighs 36 ounces unloaded, about 3.5 ounces less than my 4-inch-barreled S&W Model 681, which is a fully lugged L-Frame .357, and 4 ounces more than my 3-inch-barreled S&W Model 65, a svelte K-Frame .357 that came it at 32 ounces on the nose. For comparison, a full-sized 1911 typically comes in at around 40 ounces.

The Ruger GP100 is a .357 Mag revolver that perfectly fits my criteria for the above handgun for survival. We have a 4.20-inch barrel, lugged with a fully adjustable rear sight, elevation and windage, in stainless steel finish with a brushed satin for a low-glare to it, but it still will fight off the elements. The gun is heavy.

TriggerShims and Wolf Spring kits can be installed (GP/SP/Six Series) to help trigger/hammer performance. IIRC the 3 inch GP100 has an adjustable rear sight and the SP101 (2.25-3 inch) has fixed rear sight. IMO, I recommend buying a stainless model for whichever you choose. Hope this helps a bit.
