This doesn't list Z170 as Win 11 supported but there is no technical reason why my Maximus VIII Hero shouldn't. The chipset has got PTT support through firmware but the BIOS does not expose the setting to enable it. Am I to believe that Asus has dropped the ball and won't provide a BIOS udpate to enable a toggle or at least release a BIOS version with PTT enabled by default?

This allows you to enable PTT on an intel cpu that does have PTT. For some reason, the Z170-A seem to not have it. I am using an intel i7 6700k. I am posting 3 sources that verify that z170 should have pch-fw, 6700k does have PTT, a video of someone who actually did it on his own Z170-Pro bios using a 6700k.

People wanted to continue using Win 7 on newer hardware but the new hardware doesn't have win 7 drivers. This IS not about end of Life. Its about Asus hiding Intel PTT in the BIOS, forcing you to buy an external TPM module when its not necessary, and a lot of years without being able to use this security function on an expensive Maximus board.

I have a z170 pro gaming mobo aswell with bios 3805 along with an i7 6700k. Go into the bios-> advanced mode-> advanced tab-> PCH-FW configuration. You can either select discrete TPM ( which is no TPM) or Firmware TPM (which is TPM 2.0 as far as i can tell).
