51 CrV 4 is the most regularly used disc spring material. 51 CrV 4 offers the best spring characteristics in the temperature range of - 15 °C to + 150 °C, due to high alloy content. The low end of the temperature spectrum can reach - 25 °C, if a reduction of durability is permissible.

The DIN 2093 specification classifies disc springs into three groups: Group 1:- Under 1.25mm thick. Cold formed – Radiused edges – Without bearing flats. Estimated Group 1 Fatigue Life.

The disc springs mentioned above acc. to ≈ DIN 2093 are suitable for general use. For more critical applications it is advised to choose disc springs from the article groups 36300, 36302, 36303 and 36450. Group 1: t 1,25 from steel C67S; Group 2: 1,25 ≤ t ≤ 6,0 from steel 51 Cr V4 (edges of these disc springs are not machined).

DIN 2092/2093 disc springs are manufactured to close tolerances and are made from high quality spring steel strip and forgings.
